Bat Around is adding two former MLB stars to its advisory council: Colorado Rockies great Todd Helton and New York Yankees icon Tino Martinez. The now 13-player “Hitting Legends Council” was created by Bat Around co-founder and former Rockies and Pirates manager Clint Hurdle to provide insight as the company expands its digital offerings to baseball players.
Launched in December of 2022 and powered by HitTrax, Bat Around gamifies batting cage training through its app and six-round game experience, which features tests for different situational batting skills, like hitting line drives or directing hits to a specific part of the field. The Bat Around game, which is in beta phase, is currently available at locations in California, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, New York, and Pennsylvania. This year, Bat Around held an activation at the College World Series and inked a partnership deal with USA Baseball.
